When I was a fourteen year old kid, I experienced the Disneyland Haunted Mansion for the first time. I was mesmerized by the experience and marveled at the art, the presentation, the humor, and most of all, the special effects. At home, I recreated the "ballroom" effect using my own, crude, Pepper's Ghost box. Later, I made a Super-8 movie of my face and projected the film on to a mannequin head. Of course, that did not work very well, but it set my path to some day recreating many of the effects.

Today, technology has made the ability to recreate many of these effects possible. I began creating visual effects for our local haunts here in Southern California. I then decided to sell my used hardware on eBay. It was then that I discovered many, like myself, who greatly love the Haunted Mansion and wish to create the magic in their own displays. Several have written and asked the same questions. SpookFX was created to provide the many of the answers to these questions.

I am not a business, I am a hobbyist who enjoys learning, tinkering, and exercising my long-lost art skills. Occasionally I will sell my used effects and projectors for those willing to help defray the cost of my research and development expenses.
